I had this exact issue happen to me on international flights a week apart, so timeframe between international flights may not be a determining factor.
It actually prevented me from getting on an oversold flight once (long story) and of course the first-level airport agent tried to charge me an obnoxious fare difference. Sorted it out with a Red Coat.
I called Customer Service to report the issue for them and have IT look into my profile to see what was wrong. I never heard back from IT, but the Customer Service agent was a Second-Level Supervisor who reported directly to Heidi Gould, and said he made notes all over my profile in case it happened again. That way, he said airport and Medallion Desk agents would be aware and would give me much less hassle in the future, should the issue recur.
