Agreed. The original poster and his daughter will only be in London for 48 hours. To miss the Btitish Museum because it is "too big" would be a mistake - even if you just walk through for an hour before moving on to the next tourist spot. Call it a surgical strike if you will!

My only other piece of advice would be to leave half a day just to wander. Many times in London I just walk around with no real agenda and end up having a grand time just seeing the city on the fly. And that's before hitting a pub!
