Thanks so much for the quick and helpful responses! I was hoping to spend as few nights away from home as possible. Now it seems I either have to suck it up and waste a day working in a hotel room or think about showering at DFW, MIA or IAH (United), as suggested, and hoping it carries me through the day in Santiago. I'm usually able to sleep pretty well on overnight biz-class flights so am still thinking I could get 6-7 hours each way and really don't need the hotel stay.
