It's not in central London, and it's generally not cheap, but the Conrad Hotel in Chelsea Harbor was wonderfully silent. The accomodations are quite nice too, albeit for a price. The hotel is a few blocks from the #11 and #22 bus lines into downtown. It's probably not what you're looking for, but just thought I'd let you know about the option. Hope you have a quiet trip.
