I have logged over 5 million miles aloft - about 40% of that in First Class. Maybe I'm just a pragmatic but when I'm sat back in economy on a two or three cabin aircraft, that is my lot in life and I'm cool with every aspect of it, including those times where I barely missed the cut on the upgrade list.

The article notwithstanding, I can't say as I'm at all sympathetic to the causes of air rage. I've witnessed one episode of air rage and it was ugly. A little off topic here with regard to addressing the response to air rage, but in a perfect world I would hope that any self-indulgent, overly entitled brat of a human being immature enough to resort to air rage would be forevermore placed on the no-fly list. This would include those who "accidently" mix alcohol with prescription medications to ill effect. I've actually written to the DOT and the FAA in support of this.

Too harsh, you say? Oh it's not their fault. The seats are too tight. They should've been upgraded but weren't. They're just having a bad day... So have all of us without ruining everyone else's. There're millions of flyers out there. We'll all be better off with a few less bad apples up in the confined space of an airliner cabin hurtling along at 37000'.
