I have lost confidence in the integrity of the programme - who exactly defines what is a wholesaler. It seems nowadays any reason can be used to deny a VALID claim. Very disappointed. It seems not even Diamond members are valued anymore.
Um, yeah...when a Diamond member is using a 3rd party site to book a room rather than Hilton's own website, they're not going to value you as much.
That's pretty much true with any benefit program. If you book on Hilton.com and pay $200 for a room, Hilton gets the $200. If you book on another website, Hilton may get $160 and the 3rd party site gets $40. If I was Hilton, I would of course value the guy that booked direct over someone who booked 3rd party.
