In the example provided by the op, both segments are on AC metal (I assume). Assuming segment #1 has a delay, wouldn't AC have an obligation to assist in this case? We're not even talking about another *A airline...

Secondly, has anyone found a verbatim quote protecting a passenger flying *A, as above?

Note: I'm aware there could be delays with visa/border control, but I'm referring to delays or mechanicals with the originating operator.
this is AC, they are very unlikely to help a customer, even if its AC fault and the plane is delayed.
