I recently had that issue checking on KA for an itinerary with another segment on CX, followed by AA. KA refused. CX had no issue with both remaining BPs.
I find if AC does it "properly" for AC flights on AC tickets, it's a one click operation, and everything just prints out. I think my record is 6 BPs in one of those transactions.
