I have a question about PQD in a given year as it pertains to Systemwide Upgrades. I am a 1K for 2016, in fact last year I flew 304K PQM miles, I have now reached 105K miles for 2016 but haven't received any systemwide upgrades. When I called I was told that until I reach $12K PQD I will not receive any upgrades (of any type), I'm currently at $11,275.
Now this makes no sense to me as I met my PQD obligation last year. Has any one else run into this? I have never seen it spelled out that you are not eligible for upgrades until you reach $12K miles. I have see it detailed that you get 6 systemwide upgrades at 100K miles and 2 more for every 50K miles after that (which is a disincentive to fly more than 100K miles on United, the more you fly the less you earn, who's idea was that).
I have to say that 2016 has been my worst year ever on United ever. I am 39K lifetime miles from lifetime GS (4M miles) and I am honestly at my wits end. In 2016, I have been stranded in Denver for 24 hours (in route to China) causing me to miss a critical customer meeting and missed my connection in SFO on my way to Korea on a different trip causing me to fly through Tokyo in a middle seat in coach all the way to Seoul and arrive 6 hours late, I haven't had an systemwide upgrade since November of 2015. Honestly, why would I fly this airline. All of this would be funny if it weren't true.
