Because I have the Chase IHG credit card, I have platinum status with IHG.

Checking my IHG account online I could not find the expiration date for my points (I think it used to be included there). It was my understanding that if you made a purchase on the credit card, or redeemed points, the expiration date would be reset by 12 months.

Just did the Chat feature with IHG. The agent said that points will not expire as long as I maintain platinum status (in other words, no need to earn or redeem points during the 12-month period to avoid points expiration). I just want to confirm that this is the case.
