I tell you what...Flyertalk hands down is the best travel resource on the web.

Following all of your advice, I went to the the www.thetube.com and actually came up with a better option that will save me about 24 dollars US versus buying the Visitors travel card.

I will be in London 7 days. On the first and last day I will use Heathrow Express to get into and out of the Hilton Paddington.

Then I will purchase 5 daily off peak travel cards. Since I will be attending a conference at the Excel Centre (Using Dockland Light Railway) and stopping off at Wimbledon and going as far as Ashford one day ..the 6 zone off peak daily travel card for 5.10 british pounds is the best bet.
