Hi - easy question for the more experienced members, but I couldn't find an answer on the BA website.


My points year runs March to March, and I started this points year as Blue. A business/first flight to Singapore in April has put me on Bronze, and my next flight will be in October would put me on Silver (if I upgrade...).


When it comes to the end of the points year do I start next year on Silver, as I earned it this year? I know that is how HHonors works, everytime I get Gold I get it for the rest of the year I earn it and the whole of the next year.


Also, if you are a Silver member, flying BA, then I know you can use the lounge and take a guest. If you are travelling with family (wife and 3 children) I assume I will have to leave the kids to fend for themselves in the airport (just kidding, they are 3, 6 and 3 months!)
