I understand the delays are going to happen. What I find infuriating is AA's regular habit of failing to update scheduled departures with realistic estimates, when it is clear that there is no way the flight will leave on time. I could have stayed in the club and continued what I was working on.
I've been on flights showing "on time", yet the plane to be used was an inbound which would be 45 minutes late. A few times the inbound was coming into a different gate--causing (eventually) a gate change announcement [which I realized before the GAs]
When I arrive at an airport the first board I look at is the ARRIVALS board, since two different flights can't occupy the same gate, the status of my flight is (usually) contingent on the continuing inbound's status.
