On Tube yesterday en route to LHR: An announcement was made that the Central Line has started a limited service between Bethnal Green and Leytonstone. Not much use to many, but (like the 100 lawyers at the bottom of the sea) it's a start.

[Edited to add:] The shuttle has now been extended to Woodford.
