I'm staying at this hotel right now in the middle of a five night stay, and I'm not sure what the fuss is all about?
My friend and I arrived at check in about 3pm. I don't know what time the official check-in is supposed to be, but both our rooms were not ready. We were offered coffee at the cafe, but we ended up just sitting at the lobby.
The rooms aren't big, and we didn't get a tub in my boulevard room. Not that it's an issue because I don't take baths, but just unusual that a hotel that starts at €515 a night doesn't have a tub.
Here's the strange part: my friend received plenty of amenities like a bottle of wine one night and a plate of ham and bread on another night. I got nothing. He also has bottled water and some chocolate waiting for him in the room, but again I got nothing. All very odd, but I didn't ask about it.
One night I needed some help from the concierge Ricard; it was just a quick call to a local restaurant to check on availability. I was told to wait at the counter while he picked up calls from other guests. I'm not saying my request is more important than theirs, but I would have thought you attend to the person who is already standing in front of you instead of telling me to wait while he answers the phone? Anyway he was on the phone for the next 10 minutes; I got impatient and just asked for help from the front desk.
