under normal circumstances 30-35 min is barely ok, and it can be really dicey if one flight uses the A or B gates and the other uses the S gates (South Satellite, about a 5-min subway ride) ... despite what DL offers as "legal" connections, and despite knowing that published schedules are rather padded, I've started shying away from any connections under ~45 min at ANY hub

checked bags will most likely be ok
