I understand what the OP is saying, every single time that AA does something to my reservation they stick me in the worst seat on the plane, back row middle seat, I have to either go to AC and have them change me or start up my laptop and do it manually. Come on now I am EXP do you think I want to sit in row 23 in a middle seat when the flight I was supposed to be on I was in row 6 aisle ? 99% of the time when I look at the open seats on the new plane there are tons of MCE seats open, but they stick me in the back.
