I'd say put it on the Silver, not Platinum. The majority of the benefits of the Platinum can be gotten just by having the card. In my opinion, the only thing of significance that you can only get by using your Platinum card to pay for a purchase is trip protection.

However, you have to weigh that and the 1X MR points against the triple AA points and the trip protection that the Aviator Silver offers (which is not as good as the Platinum but still is existent).

1X MR + better trip protection versus 3X AA + lesser trip protection. It's a personal decision, but I'd come out on the side of the Silver.
