I agree with that assessment. I've had 2 stays there in the last 8 months; both were on points as the room was going for $200+ per night. I have an upcoming stay at the end of the summer and have booked a $149 rate because I have a better use for points right now.
Someone upthread mentioned the executive room next to the elevator shaft. Because of the design of the hotel, all of the "executive" rooms are next to the elevator shaft. But the time we were upgraded (bc of Plat status) we didn't hear a sound from the elevator - no swooshing, no bell, nothing. So that's a relief.
Here's something important to know: the hotel parking lot is small, and overflow parking is in the garage next door. Do NOT drive down the ramp when you enter the garage - only go up. There is a large homeless encampment on the bottom level (at least at certain times of the year).
