Looking a BA award in C for NYC-LON.
On a R/T - taxes and fees are $1150.
On 2 O/Ws, taxes and fees are $441+478, $200 less.

I could book 2 O/Ws, but I was hoping to use my companion voucher.

Is there a way to use the voucher for the R/T but get lower O/W taxes?
BA charges a higher carrier surcharge (i.e. fuel surcharge) from the US than from Europe. For a round trip they use the number from where you start. So two O/W from the US and back is cheaper. But you can't do that with a companion voucher.
