My wife and I have sat through many timeshare promotions - just to get the bonus points. Never have any intention of buying. Timeshare properties tend to be worse than the hotel properties (more wind etc) and you have to pay tons for the monthly maintenance.

Much better to MS for the points and stay "for free".
