You're right, I should just try it out and see what happens. I'll keep my answers real, but short. Just like at the border. I can say I'd like to use it to visit my boyfriend in BC more often, and since I live close to the Ontario border, I can also mention that I would be more willing to drive over for day trips as well where I didn't find it worth the trouble before.
You cans also be truthful by saying you make frequent trips to British Columbia as a tourist to visit friends. Whether it's a boyfriend or just an acquaintance doesn't matter. You are going there as a tourist and don't have a job there that might make them suspicious.
