We must go to different cities and stay in different hotels in the U.S. It is my experience that Marriott lounges are much better than at Hilton. The only place I can think that is not true is Jackson, MS. The cities where Marriott is better are many: downtown San Francisco, New Orleans, Miami, Fort Worth, Austin, Dallas.
However, I do agree that the lounges in Europe are orders of magnitude better than in the U.S. for both Marriott and Hilton.
