I think BA is the only major European carrier that uses a drawstring bag on its business class amenity kit. Perhaps it's time for BA to catch up with AF / LH (or even AA/DL/UA) to make its amenity kit more elegant for its high-paying premium class passengers?
Over the past five years, it's gone the opposite direction, to become what you see today. I actually find the current bag more useful (the bag itself... I use them to separate cables and chargers when packing). But the contents of the bag, other than the pen, are significantly worse that they were five years ago in both business class and first class.
