Well, the problem is that I'll be working Thursday more than an hour from SVQ, so when I finish I'll be driven to Seville to start travelling.

It seems that the conventional wisdom is that it won't be possible to check my bags through to the US. So, the plan would be to fly to MAD, arriving in the morning at 8, claim my bags, take the bus to T1 and check in for my DL flight to the US.

My question now is about the check in process at MAD. Is it quicker than CDG? If I land at 8, get my bags by 8:20, bus over to T1 by 8:40 and start checking in, it should work, right?
