Be happy that BA even deigns to take your request into account. My last experience with BA was quite a lesson of how to waste customers. I asked the Avios or air miles for having flown with their partner, Qantas. The reply I received was the bold statement that I made the request twice (I did not) and that the Avios had already been credited (they were not, and still are not). One part of your post certainly doesn't work well: if apply under the specific "Missing Avios" form the system only works in very limited circumstances - where the credit then does follow fairly immediately. In other cases you will get the unhelpful and inaccurate "already awarded" message no matter how you handle it. So the plain complaint webform does work quite well, if it's urgent (e.g. tier level related with travel on the horizon) then a quite call to Newcastle customer relations during UK office hours will normally resolve this.
