PP resort versus other resorts, they are all pretty similar. I don't think you have to go north or east if you found one that you like and you're mostly looking for a hang out on the beach type of resort experience. But north is considered a bit more picturesque.

I thought Tao looked good at first. But they were full when I wanted to go. And in the end, I did the day tour from EN and a full day of island hopping left me without the desire for 3 or 4 nights without a shower, covered in sand and salt. So I was actually glad I didn't do it. But a lot of people love it, and they do market well and are popular, so they fill up fast and you should sign up soon if that is your plan. If you decide not to, you can definitely get some boats for hire to take you to different little islands around EN, or you can do the tours as advertised (a-b-c-d I think).
While the scenery and beach was great, growing up used to fresh water beaches of the Great Lakes region this dried salt and sand bothered me as well.
