Thread grew out of Seat Swap Horrors thread. Someone gave an example of having pre-selected seats to work for their family only to be impacted by aircraft change and not getting comparable block (4 seats together at bulkhead) and how this could result in seat swap request on board. Discussion evolved to why all four needed to sit together (3 in bulkhead + 1 in adjacent row, 2 in bulkhead + 2 nearby or 4 in one row non-bulkhead were all deemed unsuitable). Led to discussion of whether airlines should limit offering advance seat assignments to all pax so groups could always be accommodated.
