I am considering driving from Pamukkale to Cappadocia (or vice versa) doing a 1-way rental. I realize the drop charge will be in the neighborhood of $200 USD but since there are 4 of us, and we'll want a rental car in both areas anyways, I think it will be cheaper (and faster) than flying (which requires lengthy layovers in IST or SAW).

Google says the drive time will be about 7 hours. We would leave in the morning in order to complete the drive before dark. It appears to be largely 4 lane highway, and I don't believe there are any tolls.

Any suggestions/advice/warnings about making this drive? I have never been to Turkey before.
