Edit: Not sure what the agent did on checkin, but she was very helpful in getting my bags tagged as priority and zone 2 on the BP. *G did not print on the BP though.
you're entitled *g benefits by showing your boarding pass and matching membership card. that's it. that's all. it doesn't need to appear on your boarding pass. in other words, you are conferred *gold benefits by virtue of earning *gold and getting the card. and by having the card you get the benefits. showing it on a bp just speeds the process at boarding. i don't know why everyone thinks this is so complicated
