I'm thinking of doing this partly for ..... and giggles on flight from MEL-BNE next month. The min upgrade offer is $165 USD, considering I paid $80 for the flight in Y, still isn't that bad. Not great, but not awful b/c VA wants $740 USD for the one way F fare. No wonder the F cabin is empty... The main value to me would be lounge access and obviously a meal and free drinks.

Thoughts? Is the Plusgrade offer likely to change between not and departure? I know from flying Etihad that the offer levels didn't change based on time before departure.
