I was in SP last year for a short trip and had a local friend to show me around. Realized one thing pretty quickly... it's not a tourist city and not easily explorable.

Got another 2-day trip coming up next week as a part of big mileage run. Not sure if 2 days in SP would be well utilized. So looking from couple of suggestions here on "what to do" outside of urban sprawl of SP? Any interesting day trips (with or without overnite stay)?

I will be flying in from NRT (via US) so I will be pretty beat. Hopping from GRU to CGH for another short haul is less idea. I'd really like to stay on ground for couple of days before heading back to GRU again. Don't have any particular must-do's on the list. Decent hotel to stay by the pool if I have to stay in SP. If I can get out for a day trip, that would be nice too. Would like to try some feijoada which I missed last time around. But that's all.
