This morning I was able to get a rep at the 800 number to contact the location and they closed it out a
few minutes later. I'm still confused as to why they marked the car as returned but did not immediately issue a receipt. Seems like the whole process only takes a few seconds. I guess the lesson here is that unless the location is actually closed, one should just request the receipt immediately, which is what I will do in the future.
