As I've pointed out a few times up the thread, changing the current upgrade policy would very likely have much larger negative side effects than any positive ones, unless it's changed to letting the FAs upgrade in flight using the upgrade list on their tablets. Anything else would be like applying a tourniquet to a minor scrape -- the solution would be more harmful than the issue being solved.

Like I said b4 , If Delta does not want to fill first class seats & keep them empty at the discretion of a GA
Then they shouldn't offer upgrades as a benefit to lure us into being loyal.
There have been times I could have paid less money for FC on a competitor airline than I paid for my coach ticket on Delta , but I chose Delta to keep my status.
Our benefits are not free, we do have to qualify for our status.
I never heard of YBYLP, I never noticed it being used on the routes I fly in most .
I would of never known it existed if the FC wasn't left empty.
Never once was I ever told by a GA to wait to board or lose chance for upgrade
Most DM & PM that I have spoken to never heard of YBYLP , just because it is used frequently by people who post regularly on flyer talk forum , doesn't mean all of us know about.
Even Delta employees never heard of YBYLP , if you don't believe me you can ask them.
For those of you can get your enjoyment posting all of your sarcastic remarks, go for it , enjoy yourself.
I guess It really don't matter that YBYLP is a policy that isn't being implemented properly, what is most important is to insult people for posting comments on the forum.

IMO they should either, make the policy match the marketing spin, and ENSURE that all F seats go to Medallions in the proper pecking order (a suggestion below as to how), or, change the marketing language. But, of course, it'll NEVER sound as attractive as:
UNLIMITED COMPLIMETARY MEDALLION UPGRADES
The above, is simply misleading.
It's WAAAAAY simpler than that!!! When the GA goes down to hand the paperwork to the lead FA and close the door, the GA can hand the FA a slip of paper with UGs on it! Something as simple as:
#1) 12E ----> 1A
#2) 32B ----> 3D
#3) 25A ----> 2C
#4) 14F ----> 2D
Probably, listing names would also help. Surely, the GA's computer could spit this info out easily.
The GA can even list a few extras on the list in case someone declines.
What's so hard about that?
