WT+ isn't just a separate fare, it's an entirely separate class of service, like business or first. It has a different seat, meal service and amenity kit, in all of these senses it is not like MCE. I'd probably stick with AA, especially if any of the BA flights are on the 787 (which are not comfortable in the back).
