I'm trying to think how there could be two tickets, but looking up the PNR with either airline shows all of the flights. Even if this isn't the explanation, I suspect that the travel agent did something weird.

Maybe we should ask exactly how these tickets were purchased? Real live human travel agent? Agent who specializes in bulk or consolidator fares? Miles broker? World wide phone agent like AmEx? Major OLTA? Minor/discount OLTA?
