you can easily sit the whole family together by paying for specific seat allocation. They may not be able to sit with you in your platinum allocation, but you'll be able to pick other seats.
IME QF will override allocated seating rules as a WP to accomodate your companions, even on separate bookings. I've used it many times for my partner.
