I've read and re-read the OP - this definitely sounds like an unusual experience - two hours at the check in desk in particular... what exactly took two hours?
Even with my limited experience with Customer Relations, I would be disappointed in that response. If your complaint was plausible they are normally all too keen to give you a load of Avios to compensate.
