Did anyone find decent alternatives?

Also have the issue with currently using Picasaweb for my trip reports. Picasa & PicasaWeb were a great combination for sorting and editing offline, then uploading and using it in trip reports (seems to be more cumbersome or even impossible with Google Photos).

I was looking at ImageShack and Flickr for the cloud solution but which offline tool has these integrated best?
