In regards to the original question, there ARE corporate rates that exclude points earnings. I can think of one Fortune 20 company who has at least one corp code they offer visiting suppliers that excludes points earning... I was offered and used it once without knowing this and it was a fight to get HHonors to give a one-time courtesy adjustment.
