I wouldn't shy away from row 1. And for privacy, window seats are great throughout the cabin - they all have direct aisle access as well. This configuration is actually pretty good for privacy overall, though less so for traveling couples. But most folks are traveling alone in business, so this was almost certainly the right priority.
