I think I have a new way to do the return for those who either
a) drop the last sector back to an EU airport
b) do the back to back to an EU airport the next day
from OGG (but would work from any of the islands where there is a middayish departure to LAX)
AA264 OGG->LAX 13.15 21.38
AA30 LAX->JFK 23.56 ->8:29+1
AA142 JFK->LHR 10.10+1 22.10+1
210+140+140=490TPs
Advantages are:
A nice departure time from Hawaii, not too early
Initial daytime segment is in the AA domestic first class seat, rest are in flat beds
AA142 is currently showing a refitted 772 and in any case would fall under AA's promise of every J seat on JFK<->LHR being a true flat bed
