Correct me if I am wrong, but the issue isnt the connector- it would be the current draw.

n my experience devices that draw too much current through ANY cable/connector will cause the outlet to turn off- unplug and it resets- but net result is no charging.

Looking online it seems the type c allows higher currents...if the device attched to the cable says 'send me eevrything you have', then this could cause the outlet to turn off.

Just WAGs...havent looked into it much further
