Carmel Beach - the only trouble is that parking can be tight in the area.

Point Lobos - just south of Carmel is less crowded than 17-mile drive.

Lunch at the Ventana Inn in Big Sur, about 45 minutes south of Carmel. Truly spectacular setting.
