My points reset in September and mid June I will be sitting on 2460, but with no further revenue flights booked. I am based in ABZ but also will be in DOH with a few weekend to spare in May. I am very much hating the fact I no-showed for a day trip (from Doha) to Dubai back in January. That would have left me with only 20 points, which a return to LHR would have gotten me.
Worth doing any flights to get this secured? I wouldn't be too keen to pay more than £200 for the 40 tier points.
I find the GUF2 a pretty weak benefit.
On balance I'd rather have 50k avios (more flexible, last longer and avoid having TA'd tickets).
I tend to use mine now with a Joker and the2f1, effectively giving a 45k avios discount on a 170k avios off-peak F rtn.
I may well go down the WT+ cash fares with GUF2 and joker into CW at some point; whilst that 'saves' 120k avios, it doesn't use up the 2f1 nor does it get MrsFish into F
That said, on 2460 points. I may well venture off for 40tps worth of aviation; as long as I had some kind of credible plan for the GUF2 being earned.
