Hi there. I'll try to keep this brief!

Premium Economy flight booked with Virgin:

Outbound: LHR-JFK
Return: YYZ-DTW-LHR

Now the return journey first leg was provided by Delta. This was delayed and we were informed about this via email an hour before we were about to leave to YYZ. Once at the airport we asked if there was any pro-active work they could do to avoid missing our Virgin flight (the last one of the day) from Detroit, such as routing us via JFK. They recommended sticking with DTW as we may make the connection, and that actually there was a 10pm flight out.

Obviously our plane was late and arrived at DTW after the Virgin flight had left.

Once at DTW, we went to the Delta customer service area and asked for our new tickets. We were given coach seats on a 10pm Delta flights. I obviously immediately reminded them we booked Premium. Sorry sir, Delta don't do premium. I started a rant and they pointed at a phone and said you must call as we can't upgrade you.

We were told after ranting to them they do not have a premium class and cannot upgrade us. Eventually they offer us Comfort+ seats, which you may know are just extra legroom.

Obviously by this point we were pretty upset, premium was booked so we could sleep as we both had to be in the office the next day.

Once we arrived in LHR only one bag came with us, adding to this ordeal. We were told that would be couriered to us once it arrives in London.

This all happened in March, the bag did come the next day via courier and nothing was missing.

We immediately complained to Virgin, they responded saying they have to forward our complaint to Delta as they took the responsibility.

Fast forward to today, they've offered us.... $150 DELTA flight voucher! This is hilarious,

1) I would never fly Virgin or Delta again
2) $150 barely covers it, no compensation and we all know the Premium would be at least £200 more than an economy ticket.

Any advice, laws, regulations or ways I can get this resolved? I'm gobsmacked to be honest, they hide behind each other yet Delta owns 49% of Virgin Atlantic?!
