I usually get greeted on long haul, very rarely on short haul (when it happens on SH, the flight in most cases had a CSD as SCCM, don't know if that's coincidence). I'm not fussed about it, but I wonder how much of a deal BA makes of it to crews, as most of the Nunwood surveys I get (and I get a fair few) are heavily focused on asking me how much recognition I've had on BA and other carriers.
I've noticed the same in the Nunwood surveys, and always questions about the extent to which crew were able to "anticipate my needs" etc - to be frank, my needs on s/h are pretty limited to having a seat and being served a drink and a snack (to greater or lesser degrees of complexity dependent on cabin!), so this question has always struck me as missing the point.
