The flying chefs are separate form the FA under different contracts etc.
They are not allowed to do FA safety activities like arming doors etc.
But by adding a flying chef they can save one real and more expensive FA.
I think you are right... I do not even think they are TK employees - they do not have TK CREW ID badges.
