Today I booked two rooms (1 adult and 1 child in each one) for $211 per night on Starwood's site for the Grosvenor House. I then filed a BRG (first time doing this BTW) for a rate I found on Amoma for $148. Hopefully they will match and I will get a rate of $118.40, but we will have to wait and see. I provided everything they asked for and it seems pretty black and white to me. If they don't match, this is all a moot point because I won't have the ammo to talk the wife into cancelling our Madinant reservation. Here are my questions:

1) I understand that Grosvenor treats Plats fairly well and I have read where they have combined two separate room reservations into a 2bd apartment suite. Has this ever happened to anyone? What is a reasonable scenario that would play out?

2) If we do actually end up in two rooms, does the Plat amenities apply to both rooms? Can all four of us use the lounge?

3) How far in advance can we ask for connecting rooms? If they don't connect we will have to cancel.

4) Are nights and stays applied to both rooms? SPG is doing a targeted double stay and nights program now that I registered for.

5) Does doing a BRG adversely impact upgrade or benefit opportunities?

Any and all advice and comments are welcome. I am not the type of Plat that expects anything above and beyond what I paid for so I do not feel entitled to perks.

Thanks in advance.
First of all, $118 is a steal at GH. I had my fair share of low rates at GH but never around 400 AED per night.

As for your questions

1) I have done this before. Booked 2 rooms and asked to be upgraded to a 2 bedroom apt. They did well and upgraded me to a 3 bedroom apt.

2) Kids are ok to use the lounge, even if they were in the same room as yours.

3) You can always ask in advance, pretty much the GH is excellent in CS.

4) It should be 1 stay, and the number of nights multiplied by the number of rooms.

5) Never.
