That would explain why they might restrict access at busy times. I still don't see why they would close the lounge completely at other times when it is not so busy, as surely all this does is annoy BA Exec Club card holders.

It seems very odd that they are now restricting the stay in the lounge to a maximum of 1.5 hours (as the flights normally board 30 mins before departure time) when third party lounges usually allow stays of up to 3 hours.

I'm sure this enhancement will be well received if they decide to roll it out at LHR.
